Don't let fear put you off public speaking - some simple tips will help you overcome the jitters.

Butterflies in the stomach, sweaty palms, a dry throat - all classic systems of the fear that goes with having to speak in public. But, says communications expert Candy Tymson, there are ways of beating the butterflies, and it all starts with preparation and practice. Remember too, that it's not about you, it's about the audience. Talk to them directly, and make eye contact as much as possible. Memorise your key phrases and avoid reading.
