Date: 03/09/2010 We can all improve out lives and our work performance if we learn how to find our "3rd space" and then use it. Educator and human behaviour expert, Dr. Adam Fraser, maintains the "3rd space" is much more than taking a few deep breaths between meetings. He says we need to take time out between a stressful experience and focus on the next environment instead of rushing from one to the other. He cites the case of a busy senior partner who was having trouble taking work home in his mind and attitude. The executive learned to go home via the back door, take a shower, change to casual clothes, then greet the family with a clear mind. That, says Adam Fraser, was finding his "3rd space".
