The myriad complexities in calculating indirect tax globally have resulted in many companies being unaware of the losses they’re incurring.

Indirect tax has been a much-discussed topic in the Australian tax sector lately, according to Paul Brindle, Managing Director Australia and New Zealand for Thomson Reuters.

Paul says that while the GST structure here is relatively straight-forward, global structures are causing real issues for multi-national companies with head offices in Australia. Losses are being incurred unnecessarily as a result of mis-management or – to use an even harsher word - mal-practice. Paul Brindle explains more.
