With nearly a thousand different pay classifications, the General Retail Industry Award is a labyrinthine document, and far too complicated for small and medium businesses to properly navigate.

That's according to Luke Achterstraat, CEO of the Council of Small Business Associations Australia, or COSBOA. In a new collaboration with the Australian Retailers Association, the goal is to fight for change and simplicity in the award.
